1. WHO WE ARE

LEND is a neighbourhood circular economy platform operated by Gabriele Modesti, a sole trader registered in Denmark (CVR number available on request). Our platform is accessible at lenditnow.com.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

Account Data

• Full name and email address (required to register)
• Phone number (required for Level 1 trust verification)
• Password (stored encrypted — we never see it)

Identity Verification Data (Level 2)

• Photo of government-issued ID (passport or driving licence)
• This is only required if you want to rent items
• Stored securely and reviewed only by LEND admin
• Never shared with other users

Listing Data

• Item name, description, photos, price, location zone
• GPS coordinates (approximate — within ~2km of your actual location)
• This data is visible to other users on the platform

Usage Data

• Pages visited, features used, search queries
• Device type, browser, approximate location (city level)
• Used only to improve the platform — never sold

Payment Data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment processing: stripe.com/privacy

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

• To operate the platform and enable transactions between users
• To verify your identity and prevent fraud
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, listing approval, rental updates)
• To enforce our community guidelines and ban policy
• To comply with Danish and EU law

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.

4. LEGAL BASIS (GDPR)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data based on:

• Contract performance — to provide the service you signed up for
• Legitimate interests — to prevent fraud and ensure platform safety
• Legal obligation — to comply with Danish and EU law
• Consent — for optional features like location sharing

5. DATA SHARING

We share data with these service providers only, and only as necessary:

• Supabase — database and authentication (servers in EU)
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Netlify — website hosting

All providers are GDPR-compliant. We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.

6. DATA RETENTION

• Account data: retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Listing data: deleted when you remove a listing
• Identity documents: deleted within 7 days of verification approval or rejection
• Transaction records: retained for 5 years (Danish accounting law requirement)

7. YOUR RIGHTS

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Object — object to certain types of processing
• Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting prior processing

8. COOKIES

We use only essential cookies necessary to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

9. SECURITY

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is 100% secure — if you discover a vulnerability, please report it to security@lenditnow.com.

10. CHILDREN

LEND is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will delete the account immediately.

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy occasionally. When we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last updated.
